Chili Chicken at Bomika

I got excited when a friend intimated to me about PinoyFrugalFoody, a YahooGroup about food lovers who talk about the latest good food they've had. That's totally up my alley. I joined them and posted an invite to lunch at Bomika, a cozy and unpretentious eating place in Cruz na Ligas near UP Diliman. I'd been there a few times and I love their chili chicken. At P50 with rice, it was bang-for-the-buck. I was confident about my recommendation.

Oriens took me up on my invite and we met at Abelardo Hall. A short Ikot jeep ride and we were at Bomika. There's no business sign of the place...just lots of plants on the outside.

Of course, Oriens ordered the Chili Chicken while I ordered their Sisig. The Sisig wasn't bad but the main deal was the Chili Chicken. It had just the right spice to give it that edge without going overboard. Dessert? Across the street is a sari-sari store selling a Dan Eric's drumstick for P12.50.

There you go. P62.50 for a full and satisfying meal with dessert to top it off. That's hard to beat.

(23 Feb 2006) Hi I saw your food odyssey entry about Bomika in Cruz na Ligas.....I was once a resident of this town from 1980-1986, I left for the USA in 1986 and have never gone back, and it's bittersweet to read something about my childhood town.
