U.P. Rock Climbing Interclass CompetitionjudgesU.P. Rock Climbing Interclass Competition

Event: Rock Climbing
Place: Power UP, Tandang Sora
Date: March 16, 2005

P.E. Course
It started out as a P.E. (Physical Education) course in rock climbing at Power Up, Tandang Sora, and it ended as a closing-semester interclass competition between 6 classes. Officiating was done by the gym's more-than-capable instructors.

Bragging Rights
The winning team gets to join the upcoming Make-the-Team inter-gym finals this coming weekend, sans-registration fee, compliments of Molly, faculty and managing owner of Power Up. With Denyl in our team, we had a good chance of bagging gold. However, other teams had their edge too. The navy blue team had Tal, PE major and a vet climber. Everyone was pumped. Bragging rights were on the line.

Who Won?
Let's just say that with all the fun we all had, nobody lost. But if you must know, just click and see!

Ending Thoughts
We were just a bunch of students having a fun comp and the vibe was wholesome - none of that take-no-prisoners headspace. I won't be surprised to see some of them take this sport seriously and progress to outdoor rock climbing...now that's another story...don't even get me started on that (ha-ha). For now, we'll just focus on this surprise that landed our lap...a chance to compete at the Make-the-Team comp this Saturday.
