by guest-reviewer, Charlene (mountaineer, cyclist, swimmer, civil engineer) I am biased. I loved the shoes the moment I got them. I love how they're rough yet delicate and they seem to have been made with such care--like pieces of handcrafted art, where every bit is lovingly chosen. They were my happy thought for the day and at random times during the week when I was anticipating them. Much of the two months since receiving them have been trying to make the relationship work between my feet and the shoes. At first they were a size too small, Simple shoes immediately replaced those. Next, my heels got blisters during the breaking in process. Those had to heal. Finally, after finding these Kiwi heel liners I am able to enjoy the charming pair. Alas, what is beauty without struggle?

(Oct 1, 2009) They make me smile when I see them. If you're like me, I wish you the same pedestrian joy.
