Exploring Chiang Saen, Thailand traveling
Exploring Chiang Saen, Thailand
(Apr 28-30, 2016) Chiang Saen...just a few days ago, I didn't even know this place existed. My plan was to go to Pai after Myanmar. But somehow, the Flow is taking me to the Golden Triangle...first Mae Sai, now Chiang Saen. I'm open to where life takes me. Let's see what's here....more »»

4 Days in Mae Sai, Thailand traveling

4 Days in Mae Sai, Thailand

(Apr 25-28, 2016) After my abrupt departure from Tachileik (Thailand), I found myself back to the border town of Mae Sai (Thailand), with no place to stay and no plan on what to do next. I was on edge. Luckily, the hotel owner I talked to approved of my proposal and agreed to give me 3 nights in his hotel. That was a tremendous sigh of relief to me - the first time since I crossed into Thailand. I now have 3 days in Mae Sai to get my bearing, catch up on things and plan ahead....more »»

2 Days in Tachileik, Myanmar

(Apr 23-25, 2016) I was supposed to stay in Tachileik for 2 weeks but I was plagued by too many set backs. When I learned that I also had to pay $3/day for my stay in Tachileik, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. I made a mad dash across the border into Thailand....more »»

Border Crossing - Mae Sai (Thailand) to Tachileik (Myanmar) traveling

Border Crossing - Mae Sai (Thailand) to Tachileik (Myanmar)

(Apr 23, 2016) The Mae Sai (Thailand) - Tachileik (Myanmar) border crossing is perhaps the weirdest border I ever crossed. It is an official border that does not register on the radar. Standard border rules do not apply here. It's like the Twilight Zone of all border crossings....more »»

A First Timer in Chiang Mai traveling
A First Timer in Chiang Mai
(Apr 9-23, 2016) I long heard about Chiang Mai as the mountain town of Thailand where the air is cool and crisp. Somehow, images of Sagada came to mind. Finally, upon arrival, it was a surprise awakening for me. Chiang Mai is a big city!. Chiang Mai is a big city! more »»

Chiang Mai's Amazing Peoplescape people

Chiang Mai's Amazing Peoplescape

(Apr 9-23, 2016) A place's energy resonates with the people it keeps. This holds especially true for Chiang Mai. What can I say? Great place to visit, great people...for just these 2 alone, it's enough reason to come back and revisit.....more »»

Dance Mandala in Chiang Mai at The Yoga Tree
(Apr 19, 2016) When I asked The Yoga Tree studio owner, Areeradh, if I can teach free yoga in her studio, she invited me instead to attend the Dance Mandala...didn't have a clue what that was, which got me even more excited. This would be my first in Chiang Mai....more »»

Songkran Waterfight Festival in Chiang Mai
(Apr 13-15, 2016) Thailand celebrates its New Year with Songkran Festival - a 3-day wet-and-wild mayhem that is sure to bring out the child in you. While Songkran is celebrated in all of Thailand, Chiang Mai is ground-zero. Be there or be square!....more »»

Border Crossing from Siem Reap (Cambodia) to Chiangmai (Thailand)
(April 9-10, 2016) Even for a seasoned traveler, a border crossing is always aggravating and plagued with mishaps no matter the preparation. This border crossing was no exception....more »»

19 days in Siem Reap...Thank you and Goodbye traveling
19 days in Siem Reap...Thank you and Goodbye
(Apr 9, 2016) With my 18-day Cambodian visa, I could have gone places around the country. But it felt good just to stay put and chillout, not as a tourist, but someone who wants to feel anchored - it's the closest thing to getting settled. With unhurried pace, I appreciated Siem Reap at a different level....more »»
