TheLoneRider A place to crash for one (1) night

Greetings friends,

I'm embarking on an interesting social experiment that has me excited and apprehensive. I'd been toying with the idea for over a year now, but kept chickening out. Now, however, I am once again expected to be in Manila for the month of December to participate in GMA's Survivor events. I've nowhere to stay in Manila, and the spectre of being a bedspacer in Kruz na Ligas is far from appealing. I guess now's the time to put the experiment in motion.

You were pointed to this webpage either because:

  • you're in my Google list
  • you're in my Yahoo list
  • you're a subscriber to this website
  • you're in my online social network
  • you're in one of my e-groups
You can be a close friend or a complete stranger whose email address simply landed on my list...or you can be anywhere in between. If your place is too far away from UP (University of the Philippines, Quezon City), you can completely disregard this webpage.

I'd like to push the boundaries of being nomadic. What would be more nomadic than waking up in a different house everyday? I used to do this, and left things to chance. Exciting, but if it's already midnight and you still don't know where to crash, it gets a little hairy.

This time, I'd rather have those nights pre-booked, thus the calendar below (kinda like a watered-down Into the Wild, with a broad safety net). Green date means I'm not booked on any house yet....red means I have the peace of mind I'll have a roof over my head that night.

I also view this as a chance to have a conversation with someone who I may never get a chance to have quality time with. That, if you're open to that as well. Otherwise, I'd just be happy to crash for one night.

Here's what's on my part:
  • I'll be alone.
  • I don't smoke.
  • I'll just sleep one (1) night per house.
  • No need to feed me.
  • I'll just need to use the washroom and a small space for my sleep...even the floor.
  • I'm completely self-contained - my own sleeping bag, earth pad, malong, toiletries, towel, etc. No need to provide me anything else.
  • I'll leave the house first thing in the morning...again, no need to feed me breakfast.
  • I won't open your fridge.
  • I'll leave no trace.
If you are interested in providing me shelter for one (1) night, just fill-in the form below, and I'll update the calendar accordingly. If I am unable to crash on that designated date (maybe I'm too far away or it's too late in the night and found a closer place to stay), I'll inform you as soon as I determine that.

Much thanks (biting my fingers),

-- Gigit (aka TheLoneRider)
