October 7, 2002 Monday Workout With barely 15 minutes of workout time left, I can only do my lower abs. My routine seems to work out. Instead of doing various abs routines, I only focus on one, do several sets with repetitions until the point of failure. This usually results in "good pain" beginning on the 2nd day. Pancake Breakfast As part of my company's participation in raising funds for the United Way campaign, they hold a pancake breakfast with the big wigs cooking and serving the pancakes. The highlight is the pancake eating contest. Michael wins the event with 16 pancakes in xxx minutes. His prize? A framed poster of the Canadian Olympic hockey team (males and females) bagging the gold. Since Michael lives for hockey, I can't imagine a more deserving winner. I wonder what he's having for lunch. Dr. Eric Sade I went to see a periodontist recommended by my family dentist. Dr. Eric Sade seems like a throwback to the Norman Mailer era where a doctor patiently (no pun intended) spends more time with patients discussing the dos, don'ts, what ifs and generally extends a reassurance of the outcome. What should have been a simple check up resulted in a procedure, causing me to extend my lunchtime break. My boss agreed to let me do make up time for that extension. Congee Dinner After the French class, Trifina joins me to a congee supper at the Stir Fry Restaurant. On a cold night, nothing satisfies more than a piping hot congee and good conversation.
