lucid thoughts

September 10, 2002 Tuesday

Dazed

There's no worse feeling than having to work while you're drowsy because of anti-histamines for this seasonal hay fever bout. Yaaawwwnnnnn! Darn! I can't concentrate on my work and I can't even workout.

The Walk Home

Because of transportation issues, I now use my lunch break to pick my daughter from school (on some days). It's a 15-minute walk back. Those 15 minutes are golden. There's no distraction from friends, TV or a Game Boy. Just pure conversation about anything from the mundane on-goings that went on within the day to explaining to her the Middle East crisis that brought about the collapse of the World Trade Center. Priceless time and great bonding.

Road to Perdition

I finally had the chance to go out and use my movie coupon. Folks at the office say good things about this Tom Hanks film, Road to Perdition. So I go see it. Not bad for an ex-Bosom Buddies comic playing an all-business hit-man role. Definitely much better than Kevin Costner playing tough guy Wyatt Earp in the movie "Wyatt". For me, a good movie is one that lingers long after the movie credits have been shown. This one delivers. Not that long, but long enough.
