Conversation with my yogini

Kiran, whom I consider my yogi, found time to sit down and have a conversation again with me - something I always look forward to. This time, she tells of her experience with a spiritual guru, the one she fondly calls her Guruji. While virtually unknown in North America, Guruji has the stature in India not unlike that of the Dalai Lama, commanding an audience of 50,000 in capacity-filled stadiums. What I found interesting was the apparent glow in her face while narrating her story. Seemingly, her interaction with him touched her in a profound way and left a lingering aura.

I'm not surprised. When I get the rare chance to be with my holy man (like Pizza Nite), I get the sensation of being with greatness - not necessarily being bigger than life. Rather, greatness in transcending the long strenuous fatiguing labor of existence through humor, humility, perspective and selflessness. I come away from it centered with renewed verve for life. Every person should have a holy man...and I'm not even religious.
