Art of Living

It was good of my yogi Kiran to put in a good to get me accommodated into the 5-day course with just a small token donation and web design services in lieu of the $150 price tag. Celeste, her husband Andre, and Mark from AIM were familiar faces. Altogether, we were 17 students plus Subasis, the teacher, and Kiran as the assistant.

The session started with all of us taking our rounds introducing ourselves and greeting the other person, "I belong to you" - nice icebreaker. I was surprised at the crowd mix. I thought everyone would be free-spirited Queen Street-types or hardcore yoga disciples. But only a third of the group was that. The rest were regular Janes and Joes just seeking an inner peace or trying to make sense of life. That in itself was humbling for me.

We were all asked why we came. I was apprehensive to say that my main motivation was to leverage knowledge and experience gained to help me project into the planes - my intensely burning fixation. It seemed too inwardly selfish…but I have to be true.
