MOUNTAIN BIKE CLINIC IN SAGADA
As an avid rider, I get asked many times by friends how they can get started into mountain biking. Apparently, a lot of them want to get into the fun but hit a wall with the following problems:
- they don't have a bike (and they don't want to fork out a lot of money on a bike if they're not sure about seriously getting into the sport)
- they don't know anyone who'll teach them
- they don't know where to ride
- they can't find anyone who'll patiently hand-hold them through the whole process
- they think it's an extreme sport (those who get hurt usually go beyond their skill level or get careless. It's rare that somebody wipes out while 'riding along'. It's a safe sport if you keep it safe...it's really your call.)
Hey, I read you...been on the that road before I got hooked into the sport. That's why I'm offering this clinic. BTW, I only have one spare bike, so I can't accomodate more than one participant. This is a one-on-one clinic. Here's what the mountain bike clinic offers:
- a trail-worthy bike with front suspension (size 14, perfect for newbies up to 5'5")
- helmet
- lessons on basic mountain biking
- all the way hand-holding
The clinic is NOT for you if you are:
- already a competent rider (this is for newbies)
- taller than 5'5" (the bike might be too short for you)
- don't know how to balance on a bike yet
- looking for a guided mountain bike tour (although we'll be riding the trails, this is essentially a mountain bike clinic)
I'll let you in on why mountain biking is addicting. Here's a few:
- it's fun....as in serious fun
- it'll get you fit (and lose weight)
- it'll teach you self-sufficiency ('coz you could be 25 miles from the nearest road)
- it'll get you started on a healthy lifestyle choice (like stop smoking)
- it'll keep you young (more than any other sport I've tried...and I've tried a few)
If you're still interested learning mountain biking, email me: webmaster@thelonerider.com.

Hwame (September 16, 2007) It's a pretty good idea to run an mtb clinic in Sagada. It's a nice chance for tourists to experience the place. Yes, I did enjoy learning to mountain bike up there in the mountain. As you know, it's my first time to experience mountain biking so it was a bit hard for me to do it at the beginning, specially climbing hills. But after that, I can't still forget those great moments and thrills when I was riding downhill, feeling the wind touch me. Your teaching was just right for beginners like me. Mountain biking in Sagada is quite fun.
