Junkie in search of a fix
Without my cardio for the day, I'm a lost kid in a huge mall drifting aimlessly for a sense of bearing.
With the right warm-up (stair climber for 20 minutes), music (Kim Carnes and U2), and headspace conditioning, my rope-skipping workout lately has been transforming from a 'dance' to a magical journey into The Zone. So magical I'm beginning to hurt for it…like a junkie in search of a fix. A new day is welcomed with eager anticipation of the forthcoming "journey" into the unknown, expecting only the unexpected. I would at times lose myself into the adventure unmindful that the intense non-stop rope skipping has been on for 30 minutes - my calves would just send me a jolting message to wind down and go for my stretches. It's a surreal HIGH in the tallest order.
