Kitchie Nadal's Sagada Birthday Bash

Kitchie Nadal's Sagada Birthday Bash

It's Not Working
Moving back to Sagada didn't come as seamless as I thought it might be - I had to move to a different house, I had no internet for 5 days, and all my stuff was still with UPM Paul. My bike was still unrideable. I was a LoneRider out of the saddle...sigh! Often I caught myself thinking, "Survivor party is happening in Manila and I'm here, feeling miserable."

The Party Came to Sagada
Unpredictably, the party came to Sagada. Kitchie Nadal and her merry friends graced the village to celebrate her birthday. With her was Chel, a model who likewise made it up to the top 120 of the Survivor castaways. Corinne of the bohemian I Love You store was a joy to be with. I met and enjoyed the company of her friends (friends, not entourage!), who excuded all that positive energy as well. Needless to say, I lit up like a lightbulb. It was a couple days of chilling out, drinking local Sagada wine, coffee at Bana's, culminating at Chel's for Kitchie's birthday bash. The private party was really a gathering of close friends - I just managed to squeeze myself into it.

Ending Thoughts
They just left this morning leaving a smile on my face. I immensely enjoyed myself. And voila! Everything seems right again with Sagada - my internet is on, all my stuff is with me now, and I'm gradually inching my way to a productive routine.

Also, as I write this, I'm listening to Kitchie's music - from her debut album to her lastest CD, Love Letters. Add the fact that I now appreciate the person behind the music, I am totally experiencing a new high. Not to lay it on thick, specially since we've somehow become friends, but her music really does it for me...more than anyone else - the repressed angst waiting to come out, delivered in an almost haunting wail. I get an occassional goose bump while I write.

What a magical place this Sagada is, it draws equally magical people!
