Power Yoga - last day

I have become proficient with my Power Yoga and I seem to be drawn to the next progression. First was partner yoga over the weekend, which I desire to pursue. Secondly, enrolling in the Art of Living course, which is a 5 day intensive program aimed at raising the quality of life through breath, yoga and meditation. While Kiran doesn't say so, I suspect it's also about developing Chi - an energy force field that protects the body (imagine a Shaolin monk pressing the tip of a spear on this throat and pushing against it and bending the spear in the process).

Today is the last day of yoga for this session. I've tried new things in this session and one of them is doing my routine workout (cardio, weights) immediately before yoga. The level of relaxation I get is far more deeper. As usual, I ended up waking up alone…everyone has left.

Coffee with Sun-you

I haven't hooked up with my level 3 French classmate, Sun-you since the class ended. I'm glad she found time to meet with me over coffee, notwithstanding her current health condition - flu. We might end up doing rock climbing when she gets better. Sun-you is another fork on the trail I'm pursuing out of sheer curiosity…maybe it's cultural curiosity, she being a Korean. I wonder where this connection will lead me.

The Recruit - the movie

Pacino is Pacino…and this movie does not deviate from the acting style I have come to expect (although, at this point, the predictability factor is getting high). The general role he plays is becoming homogeneous. Think Carlito's Way where he plays (in a very convincing role) a life-weathered tough guy with a commanding presence. It would be refreshing to see him play a totally different role and gauge how his acting will hold up. The movie itself is very well made with more twists than a pretzel.
