The Return of the Silver Streak Sep 10, 2010

The Return of the Silver Streak

Stressing from my real estate web project, I got a text from Rene for a fun ride on his Silver Streak bike (aluminum frame buffed down to its natural silver polish). I needed that ride like a junkie needed his fix. We took the same route we did the last time, but this time, I brought my GPS with me. It's always good reflecting on the ride by visually looking at the topographic map (thank you Google Map) with your track on it. You get to see the ridge you rode on, the loop you took, the elevation you reached, even the top speed on your downhill run! Furthermore, I get to learn something new about a GPS every time I use it - cool!

Talking the Talk, Riding the Ride
Like golfers, we were having a conversation while doing our thing. I guess you can say it was more of a social ride to gauge our fitness level, have fun on 2 wheels, take action shots (on his new kick-ass G11 Canon)....and then the workout part (even though it doesn't always take center stage, it's always there). He was gone a few weeks and I wasn't sure if I have fully recovered from my climb (my last 3 attempts at the gym didn't do well with my body saying 'not yet'). We didn't exactly wear our boy-racer helmets. The ride was perfect that way. Seen the movie Easy Rider? Same thing without the combustion engines. That was one lazy afternoon gone semi-adrenaline.

(14 Sep 2010) Hey man, saw the new blog entry about the last ride. The trail elevation profile gives a lot of justice to the pain going up that ridge! Walang semplang this time!!!! :) Let's ride again soon!
