Pilot Episode
After a much-awaited premiere telecast, Survivor Philippines aired on GMA Network. This is the first time that a local franchise of the runaway successful reality tv show, Survivor, is viewed nationwide with local talent. I was lucky to be one of the 18 castaways - selected from over 40,000 hopefuls who auditioned for the role.

Ending Thoughts
By the time the first episode was aired, the filming in Kho Tarutao, Thailand was still on-going. I was already voted-out and shipped back to the Philippines where I cocooned myself in Sagada feeling depressed for being voted-out too early. By contract, I didn't tell anyone I was a castaway the entire time, even after being shipped back to the Philippines. The public was completely unaware who the castaways would be. When they saw the first episode, my friends realized I was a castaway. I was flooded with messages and calls. Life was never the same again in the few months that followed. I could no longer go out in public without being recognized. I became a celebrity.
