Boudhanath
Boudhanath is Nepal's largest stupa, possibly the biggest in Asia. With its white dome, golden tower and other structure, man's path towards self-realization is represented. The stupa's presence is imposing. Just a short ride from the Thamel area of Kathmandu, the stupa is the pilgrimage site of thousands of Tibetan Buddhists who circle the stupa while spinning the prayer wheels to deepen their devotion. Surrounding the stupa are Tibetan monasteries, shops, restaurants.
